I don’t usually read these ‘family saga’ type novels but now and again I do enjoy a light, cosy read or romance as a change from the thrillers and crime I usually go for. I do enjoy historical novels especially those set in the world wars. This story is set in 1922, so post war, but does give great insight into how the war has affected the life of the main character and of the other women too.
It is 4 years after the war and Belinda is still in mourning after the loss of her fiancé but she’s starting to pick up the pieces of her life knowing that life eventually does need to go on.
It’s an uplifting, inspirational and insightful story with some romance added in too which I enjoyed.
I’m looking forward to reading the next in the saga.
