Better than I thought

I love a good historical fiction, but I wasn't sure I was going to be impressed with this, but I am.
The author's use of historical facts at the beginning is well received, and especially for those of us who didn't know an awful lot about the civil war.
This is well written, not full of language that is hard to follow.
