I didn't realise Minette Walters was writing historian fiction. I have read a lot of her present day novels amd really enjoyed them, so wasn't sure what to think when I read this First Look.
However, I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was. The historical details seem accurate (however I am not a history buff) and the last part was frighteningly realistic and quite horrifyingly gory.
If the book continues in this vein I would really like it. My husband would also enjoy it a he had read quite a lot of the books by CJSansom which I believe are set in the same kind of time period.
