I found this a very atmospheric step into one of the most intriguing times in England's history. I enjoyed the insight into Jayne's day life and relationships, with the juxtaposition against the danger and violence of the times. Although the way that they converse is a sign that they are living in different times, it is written in a way that is accessible and as though you are there. I would look forward to finding out how things unfold in this book, it is one of the most radical times in England's history and I'd love to see how this twists and turns.
