Not my usual genre, but wonderfully written

Historical fiction is not normally my favourite genre, but I enjoyed this first look. The addition of the maps helps to immerse you in the story before you start. It feels like it will be an intense read, especially starting with an execution. Jayne is an interesting main character and I love that she is a physician, as this was a risky role for a woman in the time. An interesting start!
