Having loved Minette Walters first two historical fiction books about the Black Death I was instantly drawn to the premise of this book. Although a completely different period, the opening is full of detail that I was able to immerse myself in. Again this book looks to have a strong female figure integral to the story and the quality of the excellent first impression has made this book a definite claim for me!
