Normally historical fiction isn't my scene however I found the begging of the book interesting. This was due to the authors creation of intriguing characters and beautiful depiction of the turbulent History of England's civil war period. Similarly the novels cover was stunning and intricate, the levels of detail ensured elegance and class whilst simultaneously creating something minimalistic yet effective.
