is 1642 and the midst of poilitical turmoil and civil war.
The king and Parliament are in a life and death struggle for supremacy while families and friends are torn apart due to their personal beliefs and politics.
Jayne Swift, a rare thing in those times, a lady doctor from Dorset tries to stay above all this and just minister to anyone who needs aid no matter whose side they are on.
Intrigued by this strange lady with no political affiliation she has taken the interest of the enigmatic William Harrier, he notices the caring and kindness she shows to everyone no matter rank or station.
But he has a troubled past of his own so can these two ever find any common ground and cultivate a romance in the midst of war?
A sweeping, historical novel littered with factual events makes this appealing to readers from a few genres.they are far easier to accept than they would be had they been included simply to shock the reader. This reviewer honestly has nothing negative to say about this book! Many thanks to NetGalley and to the publisher for my review copy.
