I loved this, even the cover is inviting. I'm a recent convert to historical fiction and this has most definitely continued my love for it. The characters, descriptions and the story kept my interest from the minute I picked it up until the very end. Especially loved Jayne and William, what a fantastic pair of characters, so well written. Jayne stands out as she isn't what you would expect of a woman of those times, brilliant! I got completely lost in their world, my imagination ran away with it all and its exactly what I love about books. Honestly, one I would recommend to give a try, especially if historical fiction isn't something you have read before, this would be a great dip into it. I will be seeking out more of Minettes books, historical fiction and crime. Hopefully they will all be as good if not better than this one was. A real page turner!
