I was moving back and forth between 3 and 4 stars and couldn't make up my mind.

The Swift and the Harrier is an entertaining, feminist take on the English Civil War. Jayne Swift, as a heroine, is likeable and enigmatic.

The story has some likeable characters and you have a wonderful introduction to them. The characters are brought to life by the author and it is easy to get a picture of them.

The author has a wonderful writing style and I must say I do like her style and her other books.

The book did become a little show in the middle, but it was building a picture to take you on the journey. It was lovely to follow in the footsteps but I can't say I was blown the story.

It was a nice easy read and I would read more by the author. If you want an easy read and a nice book to enjoy over a few days. I would definitely read more by this author and look forward to more books
