My initial impression of the book cover is that it is very striking in black and red with the well known blues tripes as the background, but it was the description that really enticed me to read the first look.
The harrowing descriptions of the main charcter Lale's first arrival and his introduction to Auchwitz are compelling reading and although it is a previously much described scenario I still found it to be told in an original way.
I am sufficiently encouraged by other jacket reviews about this being ultimately an uplifting and moving novel that I want to read more about Lale and his experiences.
