Books abut the Holocaust are important. No one should be allowed to forget what happened. Tales of upliftment are rare. I've read extensively on the subject both fiction and non fiction. I found myself instantly drawn to this book because I've never come across a story that deals directly with the tattooing of the identification numbers on prisoners' arms. The first impression makes me want to read the whole book as it seems to be compassionately and intelligently written.
