This book was such an emotional and tough read, but yet such an important book to read about as well. I find topics such as the Holocaust are really important to be educated about and to understand.
This book really highlighted the horrors that happened every single day, the horrors that innocent people had to suffer through. This book will stay with me forever, it touched me so much.
I loved that it was from one person's perspective, Lale. I loved how courageous Lale was even though this was the worst experience in his life, he was so brave and the fact that he tried to help people other than himself, even when it was dangerous for him to do so, I just admired him and his strength so much. I loved that he would literally go to the ends of the earth for the one he loved, despite how much danger he could put himself in.
