This journey leads him to a Nazi concentration camp, where he will need to quickly learn how to survive. However, he does more than survive, becoming a helper and supporter of those around him.
The protagonist comes through as clever, cunning and extremely caring and loving. His memories show us the kind side of such a dark place in history and remind us that there is always hope, even in the darkest times and places.
To me, what was even more touching, as that I didn’t know that this was a real story until I had finished the book and got to the epilogue. This gave the story a whole new depth. Thoroughly recommend this book!
