Once I started reading I couldn’t put it down. A fantastic retelling of a tragic and insightful story of Lale Solokov. The historical context of this book also goes into much more depth than my prior knowledge, and I am amazed at the prisoners bravery portrayed in this fantastic book. The authors language is heart-wrenching and perfectly depicts the horrors and love found in the cruel concentration camp of Auschwitz. I am both humbled and grounded by the bravery, kindness and compassion shown by those in terrifying situations, and their selfless attempts to help other around them shown in the Tattooist of Auschwitz.
This book is truly inspiring and will always have a place on my bookshelf and in my heart.
