This book was an easy read and fast paced making it hard to put down. The story follows a young Jew trying to survive in the concentration camps during world war 2.
He soon finds love in the most unlikely of places. He found love for his fellow camp mates, friends and a girl and tries desperately to keep them safe even if it puts him in danger too.
I can't recommend this story enough as I think it is very important to understand what happened during world war 2. The author, Heather Morris, conveys this beautifully weaving together Lale's story and the facts of what happened.
I especially loved the epilogue where it showed us what Lale and Gita got up to in later life and how they managed to find happiness within eachother despite the horrors of Auschwitz.
