This book left me stunned. I couldn’t put it down. I love stories with historical background to give me an insight into their lives and this is a perfect example. It shows brutality, friendship, love, and to discover that it was infact a true story was unbelievable. You instantly begin to get attached to the characters, as you follow their awful experience through auschwitz. It gives you an insight into what it was really like, showing some privileges prisoners had, despite still being victims as their every move was watched carefully.
I really connected with each character. It was written amazingly and I highly recommend to anyone. The author created many emotions throughout, leaving me shocked, sad, happy. If you have any interest in love, violence, survival and history I would give this a read, as I feel like it is suitable for a range of readers
