I absolutely loved this book. It is a true story and the narration remains true to Lale’s voice. A really powerful story about concentration camps .. I learned so much. I fell in love with Lale and Gita and the pictures at the end of the book were incredible. It truly gave a authentic depiction of concentration camps , I cried and it broke my heart .. but it allowed me to really feel what happened in the past. I loved the way the love story unfolded , but was continually heartbroken over the autrocities that took place in Auschwitz. The author really did Lale’s story justice and I was honoured to have ‘’met“ the brave hero’s written about in this book. I could read this again and again. I’ll be recommending to all my friends.
