An amazingly good read
The Tattooist of Auschwitz is one of the most gripping books that I have read in a long time. The first-hand account of a real experience paired with the incredibly emotive writing of Morris makes for a book that you just can't put down.
The plot is ultimately accompanied by the love story of Lale and Gita. This element of the book touches the reader's hearts in a way that makes them forget the atrocious things have been seen throughout the book.
You don't have to be a lover of history to enjoy this book. There is something in it for everyone. Morris's book is informative, emotive and heartbreaking.
As someone who has visited Auschwitz in recent years, I can say that Morris has totally and unequivocally portrayed the concentration camp true to form.
