I am a huge Historical Fiction fan, from All The Light You Cannot See to the Nightingale... this book if up there. It is hauntingly beautiful with glimpses of hope and love that is found within the most unusual places. I cried and laughed and never wanted the book to end. The plot consumed my entire being as I fell in love with characters. The writing was stunning and so beautifully written that I could not tear my eyes away from the pages as tears welled up in my eyes. As I read I fell in more love with each page and I promise you will too. The twinged sadness from the words floated off the page and into my heart but nevertheless I do not regret reading this book as I welcome the sadness it brought with welcoming arms.
