This book basically walked me through Auschwitz. It was my night time reading and I just could not put it down.
The characters were well researched and the details were quite impressive. It evoked all manner of emotions, from anger to despair to hope for a future against all odds.
The style of writing is really advanced and if you are a good reader, there was no dip in the story. It just kept going.
This is a story of true perseverance, of compromises that may need to be made just for survival and goes to show how much we take for granted in our daily living.
I really appreciate the author for writing this because I tend to get absent-minded with screen plays and movies and most of the messages are lost on me. This book however, has provoked a lot of thought. However, it was a good thing that they got reunited in the sweetest of ways. Lale was a really good man and Gita was a perfect match for him.
