I absolutely loved this book, it was gripping and heart breaking at the same time. The true horrors of Auschwitz are terrible to read about but also so important. This book shows the humanity of those who were imprisoned and killed in the concentration camps, the writing feels like someone telling a story. Every character has their own story, and you just feel like you want to hear all of their stories, you want to make sure they’re ok, even when they probably weren’t. Heather Morris tells Lale’s story with so much feeling and has obviously done her research and listened to what she was told. To fall in love in the situation Lale was In and to never lose hope just shows that love can conquer all!
