I loved this book!
I was very interested in reading it because I liked the idea of love, survival, history and truth woven together in one story. I was not disappointed!
Heather Morris really brings Lale's story to life, describing in detail the awful trauma that people had to go through as Jews, Gypsies and prisoners in Concentration Camps all of whom were completely innocent. Particularly in the middle of the book, I found some parts really shocking, especially Herr Doktor, and what he did to Leon as well as how Cilka was treated, as it is all a real story and not just fiction at all.
It is really remarkable that Lale and Gita's love saw them through the most horrific time of their lives and how courageous and heroic they were: would certainly recommend!
