Lale is given the job as the Tatowierer (tatooist) who had to tattoo the number on the arms of the people arriving at the camp.
He meets Gita and it is love at first sight, he vows that him and Gita will make it out of the camp and live a life together in freedom.
I found this an emotional read. There are horrible things that people had to endure in those camps. I found that it was a page turner and I wanted to find out what happened to Lale. I would highly recommend this book, it is an easy read and contains interesting information. I am looking to get Cilka’s story as well now.
