Heather Morris has recorded the incredible true story of Lale Sokolov's life leading up to and in Auschwitz.

As I am someone who is a little in the dark about the Holocaust, this book is a real eye-opener about the horrors and truth of what went on behind closed doors. The main character of Lale is hugely inspiring. He found almost a sense of purpose during such a dark time in not only his determination to survive but also in him helping so many others in the process, in particular, his love interest, Gita.

Ms Morris has also included some extra information and photos at the end of the book which really presses into you how real it is.

I really loved reading this book, which is perhaps shown in that I (like many others I'm sure) read it cover to cover in a day.
This heart-wrenching tale is highly recommended!
