First look- So full of emotion, Im hooked!
The first few chapters of this book have fully grabbed me by the throat, but in a good way.
There is a lump in my throat that wasn't there before and a thought in my mind that will probably never leave.
Poor Lale, the main character is not a bad person, nor does he want to be, but he is caught up in the horror of working at Auschwitz. The descriptions and narrative really capture the emotions Lale is experiencing and I feel like I need to find him and give him a huge hug.
He is pysically sick, experiencing the horrors around him and the nastiness that hes been unwillingly caught up in.
From a loving home, where he helped out his father, he has now been forced to do and see unthinkable things. I can't wait to read the rest and find out whether he comes out the other side and remains the lovely boy that he is!
