Being a history nerd along with a book lover ensured that reading The Tattooist of Auschwitz was bound to happen! Reading this made my heart break constantly- the knowledge of this being a true story made it so much more emotional.
Seeing how one can fall in love with another so easily forced me to continue this novel even though I wasn't loving it at first, but I'm happy I continued because I didn't anticipate loving it so much! Continuing the book, we meet Cilka- a character who our hearts break for, especially learning more about her story.
The end of the novel includes documents relating to the true story this novel is based on and I feel as though Heather Morris did a perfect job in recreating this story and bringing a sense of justice to these people.
After finishing this and seeing a next book inspired by Cilka's story to be published soon, I can't wait to read more and learn more about Cilka's life.
