What a fantastic read!
As it is based on a true story it helps more to picture the reality of what happened in these camps. It was a brilliant insight from the tattooist point of view and he did a brilliant job of getting the position he did to avoid the harsh punishments.

The mix of the love story throughout really helps brighten up this book and shows that even in the darkest of times, they are all still humans and they all had emotions.
It’s sometimes abit tough to read but the structure of the book and the writing itself is phenomenal and very detailed.

There are quite a few Auschwitz books on the market and I can recommend a lot of them, but as this was the first one I read, I have to say it gripped me the most and would really recommend this to read, especially if you have a love of history.
