This popped up on my social media page and I bought it because it sounded like something I'd enjoy reading. It's a powerful and personal account of the atrocities committed by the Nazi regime in the camps that were scattered throughout Europe, and how a surprising love between two people endured and survived despite it. How people within the camps did survive. How they lived with the humiliation they suffered as well as the fear they encountered every day that today would be the day they died or (maybe worse?) would encounter the 'doctor' of the camp and his sadistic form of medicine. Nothing too graphic (at least not often), just simply the honest truth spoken from the heart. Just beautiful. And heartbreaking all at the same time.
