'I tattooed a number on her arm. She tattooed her name on my heart.'

Firstly, this book is heartbreaking. The Tattooist of Auschwitz is a book that is going to stay with me for a long long time, it is truly unforgettable. It tells about the true stories of Lale and Gita and their forbidden romance during the Holocaust. Although this book is full of unimaginable sorrow it is such a beautiful and captivating love story full of so much hope. The author Heather Morris has accomplished so much with this story and although it wasn't as brutal as some other books based on the Holocaust it was thought-provoking and emotive. I found myself in tears at so many points in this book. Morris has written this with so much care and compassion and I really cannot recommend this enough.
