one of the most moving and emotional reads i've read and the fact that this book is based on a true story is incredibly sad. As much as I enjoyed the book it also educated me on more about what happened in the concentration camps is Germany. The effect the book had on me as a reader was indescribable, highly recommend this read. Obviously the topic is hard to read about but Heather Morris (I believe) managed to present the experience in a way I could try to understand. The book is gripping, heartbreaking and amazing even though talking about such a hard time and gives a voice to a holocaust survivor, Lale who found love and married Gita. What is an another amazing factor of this novel is that it gives backstory of the characters and we learn more about them which shows the holocaust isn't the only thing that makes them them, yes it was a horrific thing for them to live through but they also experienced more.
This story is not an easy read at all but definitely worth the read and impossible to put down when started.
