The tattoist of Auschwitz is one of my favourite books in recent memory. To get such an amazing insight into a historical event of such importance is incredible.
The book is written in a style that is very easy to follow helping the story to flow and be easy to keep track of. The main character of the story, Lale Sokolov, is extremley likeable and of course it is easy to sympathise with someone who suffered through such a horrific event.
Having visited Auschwitz myself I was keen to read this book in order to gain a first hand insight and further understand what people went through.
Books like this one are extremeley important to remind us of historical events of the past and allow us to learn from the mistakes made in the past.
