This book was recommended to me by a history teacher and I was a little reluctant to read it. However, after finishing I am so happy I did. The story touched my heart by connecting me to a character who was affected and therefore affecting my heart. I always thought I knew about the horrors of the holocaust but this book opened my eyes a million times wider and was written in such a way that I felt what I imagine to be a fraction of the characters pain. The only reason I didn’t give it a full five stars was because it took a while for me to get into the book. The beginning felt a little confusing and failed to catch my interest. But after I did I was hooked. Even if your not a person whose into historical books I fully recommend reading this. It will change your heart and the way you view the tragic event that changed our world forever differently. This book will be in my heart forever!
