I was very pleased to be sent this book. I have a deep interest and passion for literature based on ww2 however having read many books on this genre it is difficult to 'stand out'. I thoroughly enjoyed this read. It was interesting, sensitive and I fell hook, line and sinker for the main character. It gives a real sense of life in the eyes of the 'Tattoist' and you become drawn in reading on and on. His character is passionate and strong. I assume the authors intention is for the reader to sense his strength and become enthralled in the love story which develops. While thus develops it doesn't become a romance novel, but holds true to the essence of the book. I would recommend to others who share my interests.
