Ok so, I’ve read a few similar books (real life/tales) yet none so as gripping as this! This book is different to a lot of other books around the same topic. I find this book different to a lot others I have read, yet comfortingly similar at the same time. It just makes the tales of that oh so terrible time hit you as the reality of the situation sinks in and the prejudice the innocent people faced, the horrors they suffered. Innoncent people suffered , yet the harsh reality of this book highlights it almost beautifully. It’s a shame it is such a sad tale to tell, yet one that is not told enough. I’m not sure if I can bear the possible heartbreak of the rest of this book , but I feel I may have to to see how it ends....
