I loved the story, but most importantly I love the way it was told.

I must admit I was reluctant before reading this book. I have read so many stories about the victims of the Nazi regime that I thought it would be more about the same. However, the more I read, the more I realized how wrong I was.

It was not only the beauty of the story, but the way in which it was told. It did not only focus on the protagonist's love story, but also in the human complexity that could be found in concentration camps.

The author found the way to illustrate the human relationships that could be found within the camp. Morris was one of the few authors that did not make me feel sorry about the victims of the Nazi regime, to the contrary, I felt so amazed by their courage.

I loved the way in which the book was written and I cannot wait to hear Cilka's story! (the sequel).
