The tattooist of Auschwitz was both an interesting but upsetting book for me. Although I’d read about the Auschwitz concentration camp before during gcse history and hitlers rise in power , I did not expect to be so disgusted and sympathetic for those victimised in these torturous chambers. As much as it was informative it also provided a beautiful love story between Lale and Gita which symbolised hope for the couple as they are finally releases after too many dreadful years stuck in concentration camp. I think this book is great for all readers ( obviously those who aren’t lighthearted as it is deeply horrifying ) as the English is both simple to understand but also grammatically advanced and full of in dept descriptions. I have to say the cover definitely drew me to reading this book and I read it in a matter of weeks so overall I would say this is worth the purchase.
