I was so excited for this book I had heard nothing but great things before going into it, and I was extremely disappointed it did not feel historically accurate in the slightest, it felt almost though they were glorifying such a serious and terrible time. And even if I ignored this and was just looking at it as any romance novel I found it very boring and repetitive , this is based on real man's story but I just don't think she did a very good job of representing him and everything he and the hundreds of thousands of people went through through this terrible time. It is such a sensitive topic and if you are going to write about such events you need to do it right and this just did not do that.
