Going into reading this book, I was a huge history lover and I was not disappointed one bit. I have always been fascinated by the Holocaust and Auschwitz in particular. However, no matter how interesting you find learning about the Holocaust, it is always so negative. Of course, this novel had negative aspects as we are talking about the Holocaust, not daisy filled meadows. But it is incredibly comforting to know that something beautiful was able to leave those terrible camps and live on for eternity. Just knowing that the relationship that Lale and Gita had actually existed, and will live of forever, can bring a tear to anyone's eye. I never wanted it to end. I found myself captivated by the lives of two extraordinary people, and I wanted to know everything about their beautiful love story.
