I was not really sure what to expect from this book. I knew that the story itself will be emotional and probably get under my skin. I was sure I was going to like it.
And I did like it. It somehow felt raw, emotional. The characters were easy to love and everything seemed so real. It was touching. It was sometimes difficult to hold your tears and keep reading.
The only thing I liked less was the way it was written. It looked and felt more like an article found in a local newspaper. It was a strange feeling and I believe this destroyed the charm of the novel. Sometimes the way you write a novel can change the whole tone of the story. I almost had the impression that I was reading a collection of documents.
All in all, I think it is worth giving it a try.
