The book was brilliant and quite informative. The relationship between lake and Gita had me on edge many times. It’s amazing how they found time to be together and to see love in such an awful place. I enjoyed the ending and the photos of the couple at the end as well. I found the character of gita’s Friend Cilka so innocent and her ending is so unpredictable yet still sad. At some parts I found Brenski the typical nazi but his compassion and willingness to Help Lale demonstrates that not all Nazis want to hurt Jews they still had sympathy and moral understanding of what went on. Overall Some real passion and love behind this novel and I would definitely recommend to anybody interested in the holocaust.
