Read it all in one night as the story line was so intriguing.. there wasn’t much character development from other characters or descriptions of them but I feel as thought that’s the point. When you were in a concentration camp like this no one cared what you looked like or who you were, no one wanted to know who anyone else was. So I feel as though that’s what that book was.. true feelings as they couldn’t think too much about what was going on inside the camp as they wanted to keep their thoughts to the outside world and how they would see it again. They needed to keep hope in the outside world to help them survive inside, and if that meant them detaching themselves emotionally from everything that happened inside then that is what they had to do. A very thought provoking read.
