I'm probably in the minority of people that didn't love this book, don't get me wrong I didn't hate it, but something was missing for me. I really enjoy World War 2 historical fiction and this does give a good picture of the prisoners time in the concentration camps. I liked the different characters and really felt for them as they were put through the ordeals. Since reading it I learnt that it was rumoured not to have been as based on fact as originally claimed so I don't know how true the representation is, but it's still a harrowing story as you can imagine it wasn't too far off what actually happened and we know that the concentration camps caused the death of so many innocent people. I'm not sure if I would read more by this author in the future as for me I didn't click with the writing style.
