This is a gripping historical fiction based around the Second World War in Auschwitz. This book sees us go through the journey of a young Jewish man’s ordeal through the unforgivable act of genocide bestowed upon him but Hitler and the Nazis. Throughout this book are historical references which are of interest to any wartime fan. Although this book is totally gripping, at times I had to put this book down as the content is both harrowing and difficult to read. This plot takes us through arrival at the death camps, time throughout and then a question of whether survival happens or if life will ever be the same. By reading this, you will learn an insider’s account of what life was truly like living under Nazi rules and being on the side of those who were not accepted/were blamed for Germany’s problems. Definitely a book that has lasted with me!!
