Knowing that this book is based on a true story makes it both a moving and tough read. I bought this book after visiting Auschwitz in Poland and wanting to learn more about the history of the Holocaust.
I felt Heather Morris writes in quite simple language making it easy to follow. She also doesn’t hold back on the detail of the inhumane treatment many of these people had to suffer - so this is definitely not an easy read from this point of view.
I would recommend people to have researched or know a bit about Auschwitz prior to reading as some of the terms and names could be difficult to understand without prior knowledge.
Never the less a great read that is thought provoking and touching. I would definitely recommend this book to others
