Really enjoyed this book, finished it in 4 days. It was interesting to learn about the living conditions these poor people had to go through, but at the same time, it was nice reading about the relationship between Lale and Gita and how they managed to live in the camp. The story-line was easy to follow; there wasn't too many characters to keep up with, but enough to understand the relationships Lale had during those 2 1/2 years.

I found it interesting following the life of the tattooist and how the guards treated him a little differently to the other people. I thought the author did Lales story justice and it was lovely seeing real photographs of him and Gita at the end of the book with extra information about their life after the war.

Would highly recommend this book, definitely eye-opening to say the least.
