I loved this story, which was made all the more better when I realised that it is true! The characters and the particular story told are so interesting and quite unbelievable. Having been to Auschwitz, whilst there I found it very difficult to picture the events I know to have happened there, happening where I was standing but reading this book a while later has helped me to understand and picture this better.
To be honest I didn't love the way the book was written, without any kind of deep feeling or sort of beautifully written descriptions, however I felt the chosen style fitted the subject matter and allowed for it to be sensitively written and focus on the vital information.
I look forward to reading Heather Morris' other books including Cilka's journey as I would love to know more about any of the characters that were in this book too.
