The whole of this book is wrote in such a beautiful way, and thanks to the smaller chapters than you find in most books of this genre, you find yourself reading quickly through the story. It’s an emotional read at times and I found myself feeling a little sad at the thought that these were not just made up characters but based on a true relationship. It is comforting to know that even in the most devastating of situations true love and happiness can still be found!
The book follow lake, who is chosen in the concentration camps to tattoo number on all the prisoners. He comes across Gita while tattooing his numbers, and although the start of the books shows Gita as reluctant to give out information about herself, this only adds to the page turning addiction that I found myself in whilst enjoying this sad but inspiring story.
