I really loved this book, it was heartbreaking yet utterly beautiful. This book not only shows you on just how tragic those events in ww2 really were, but it also shows a story of how powerful love can be. The love Lale had for Gita was lovely to read about, and how people can still find love even in the most tragic of situations. One thing to mention is that although this one is based on true events and the story of Lale Sokolov, it is still classed as Historical Fiction. Parts have been fictionalised and its not 100% a true story. There has been numerous inaccuracies that have been pointed out which I think is important to mention as after reading about this I realised a lot that was written about wasn't historically factual and I know so many do think it's a completely true story but it's not. Nevertheless, this was a 4 star read for me.
