This book was a real eye opener for me about the Holocaust which I am embarrassed to say I knew very little about. I studied world war 2 in school and thought I had a basic understanding into how this horrific event really changed the world however after reading this I realised just how ignorant I had been to the real autrocity and pain that one human could cause another.
This book evoked in me an anger and a passion to ensure that nothing like this ever happens again.
I found myself becoming attached to the lead character in a way which is rare within books.
I would say this book is certainly emotive and although at times I did find parts hard to read I really loved this novel.
This sparked in me a desire to learn more about the war and is certainly a book I think highly of. It's definitely five stars from me and I would recommend anyone to read this!
